Shelby Knowles is a freelance photo editor in New York City.

She has worked for The New York Times, Bloomberg, Los Angeles Times, NPR, The Texas Tribune, among others.

And served as a judge for NPPA, Best of Photojournalism, in 2023 and 2024; and the Society of Professional Journalists, College Photography, in 2023.
